We just set up a Tivo. It takes six seconds to change a channel. You press the channel up button, it thinks, it blanks the screen and comes back, it sends the three numbers to the cable box, and then you’re there. I don’t understand the wild appeal of this thing. I mean, if you can’t program a VCR, sure. Do I just channel surf 6x faster than most people?

Wait till you get a high definition receiver… it takes it nearlty that long to lock in on a transmission, WITHOUT one of those infrared doohickeys to add to the delay.
